Yes, the 10.10.10 Fun Run for Pasig River marathon was a success.

Its main goal was to raise funds for the restoration of Pasig River. Registration fees were 250 pesos for non-students and 100 pesos for students. For this fee, they got only a sheet of paper with the runner number. This was to maximize the percentage of money going to the restoration project. Approximately 160,000 people reportedly registered for the 10-10-10 Pasig Fun Run.

The marathon also succeeded in breaking the then-current Guinness Book record of the biggest marathon event at 110000. According to the independent count of the SGV, 106000 runners attended the 10.10.10 Run for Pasig River.

It was also surprising that the organizers encountered no problems during the event. The weather was perfect and there were no accidents and crime and the big crowd of people left  little trash.

Free rides on the MRT and some bus companies were provided for the runners. This would improve logistics for the thousands of people after the events.

The 10-10-10 Run for Pasig River was entitled Kapit Bisig para sa Ilog Pasig and was organized by ABS-CBN Foundation Inc.

There were 4 events in this marathon. They were 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km. The 21-km event was not open to the public but only to the select few runners(like Gabby Lopez, an ABS-CBN executive) and the military. Manny Pacquio ran and led the 10-km event.

Gina Lopez, one of the organizers said that they were planning to hold this event every year breaking their previous record each time, until all of Pasig River has been cleaned. What an overwhelming task, but hopefully they will succeed.
